So I had this idea the other day about getting other people who have web cams and putting them up on our site. This way we can have more than the normal two web cams and it would be like a whole talk christmas community of web cams. :1smiley008: You could set it up on whatever you would like so long as it's family friendly. I would love to get several different kinds of web cams such as a Snow Cam..from you folks up north. A tree cam would be awesome. I will give each cam it's own section with it's own description. If you would like to do this either respond here or send me a message.:grinn: I hope I can get some of you guys to do this:1smiley015:

Erv, we would certainly need an eggnog cam

camstreams is really good they have a 20 second Realtime delay though....so what everyone will see on the webcam happened 20 seconds ago. I am working on what the best way to do this will be and I will let you know when i come up with something.

So basically I think the easiest way to do this would be to sign up for the free account on camstreams, they give you the encoder to download that will broadcast the video on their site, Then I will just iFrame the video onto my site.

I found a better way. You can download the encoder I use <you can do like a 90 day PRO trial> which gives you unlimited number of cams you can use with the one encoder and after the 90 days it goes down to the free version if you don't want to upgrade and stay on the pro. The free version just allows for 1 source as opposed to unlimited. Then once it's installed just follow the directions to connect your cam to it. once your cam is connected select the web/broadcast button and click activate which will then be broadcasting your webcam. I will need the address that is in a link form at the bottom right of the encoder it should be http://your ip address:8080 or what ever port you have open for the webcam to use. Then webcam will run smoothly and better quality. If anyone that wants to do this has any questions feel free to send me a message and I will be glad to help.

As far as I know....it works great on Vista....which seems like nothing works for vista....But I do believe they have an option on there to download a vista/windows 7 version but for some reason it didn't work on vista...go figure...But the xp version did.
